Safety Glasses Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all employees working in areas with potential eye injury risks—including flying objects, impact, heat, chemicals, dust, or optical radiation—wear appropriate eye protection. The policy also specifies the types of safety glasses covered by the store owner for eligible employees.
Policy
JennyClothings is committed to maintaining a safe working environment for its employees. All employees are required to wear protective safety glasses as mandated by OSHA regulations, store policy, or applicable state and federal laws.
The store has partnered with a state-contracted vendor to provide approved prescription safety glasses at no cost to employees for basic options. Key provisions include:
- Frequency: Safety glasses will be provided every two years or when a significant prescription change occurs.
- Coverage: The store covers the base price of safety glasses, including:
- Tinting
- Scratch-resistant coating
- Side shields of any type
- Overpowering lenses (bifocal or trifocal)
- Work-Related Damages: Repairs or replacements for damages incurred due to work-related activities will be fully covered.
- Upgrades: Employees may purchase upgrades (e.g., premium frames or lens features) at their own expense. Payment for upgrades is required at the time of order.
Purchases must be made through a purchase order processed by the campus business office using the state-approved vendor. Safety glasses may not be purchased using the store’s purchasing card.
